Deanery Synod
The next Deanery Synod meetings will be held on:
Wednesday 21st October, 7pm – 9pm, St. Michael’s Church, Broad Street, BA1 5LJ. Coffee and tea will be available from 6.45pm.
Bishop’s Autumn Visit to your deanery,
on Wednesday 11th November from 19:00 to 21:00 at St Michael’s Twerton, Bath, BA2 1DL.
From Exmoor to Frome, Portishead to Yeovil and all points in between, spending time with our churches, schools and chaplaincies and seeing all that is being done to live and tell the story of Jesus across our diocese is always the greatest pleasure. This year it has been particularly wonderful to witness the many and varied ways that people have engaged with our diocesan Year of Especial Focus on Prayer.
This autumn, with colleagues from our support services, Bishop Michael and I are excited to be heading out to visit all our deaneries. We want to think with you about where we go next, building on our prayers and enabling them to shape our ongoing mission and action. We have some good news about funding to share, as well as some tools and resources, which we hope will stimulate many fruitful discussions. We want to discuss with you how we can serve and reach out to our communities, making Christ known and unlocking new and perhaps unexpected opportunities to invite more people to come to know and love Jesus as we do.
Outreach and service look very different in each of the varied contexts of our diocese. In some places we’re at the stage of trying to discern what God may be calling us to do. Others are well underway with rich experiences and insights to share that can help us all. Whether you’re only just starting out, or well into the journey, we hope very much that you will be able to join us to make your voice heard and to join in this exciting conversation about growing God’s kingdom here in our Diocese of Bath and Wells.
